i just watch this movie "She's out of my league", it's about 10 rated girl hooked up with 5 rated guy.. his friends told him that there's surely something wrong with that, there is no way a 5 can date a 10, and the guy believe it, he keep asking to himself, "why"? why would a 10 date me?
The girl answer "because you don't try to impress me and i can be myself around you". The girl was honest with her answer, but the guy won't take it, he keep thinking the other way. At some point the girl lose her temper and said
"you know what, maybe you're right, maybe you are a 5. You know why? No self-esteem, deduct 1 point".
"Every time someone walks into the room, you compare yourself to them, deduct a point".
"You're a smart and talented guy who's afraid to do anything with it, deduct a point"
"How are we doing? hoping that i have a defect that you can work with? deduct whatever's left"
after that, they fight and had a break up. The guy mistake is he believe his friend, and he keep deducting his point himself, by saying "i'm skinny, i've never gone abroad, i didn't go to college, i have a lousy job, etc". And adding point to the girl, "she's so hot, she had traveled around europe, she had a fine job, she had an excellent ex-boyfriend, etc".
And then the guy's friend realize something's wrong and he want to help to fix it, so he talk to his ex
guy : "you dumped me! why don't you just admit i was never good enough for you?"
girl : "you were plenty good enough for me, you were just never good enough for you"
and he ran, looking for his friend and said "Ok, i was right about Molly, she is a 10, a hard 10. but i was wrong about you, you are a 10! u are the best guy i've ever known.."
OK, that's a little preview about the movie, i think you should watch it.
my point is : why make the gap?? it won't do you any good. Just make peace with yourself, accept whoever you are, be confident with it, and add your point instead of deduct it. Stop thinking that "she is out of my league", if she did think so to you, than prove it otherwise. show how funny you are, or whatever you're good at. just remember 2 things, be sincere and don't try to impress
